«The eye is the master of astronomy. It makes cosmography. It advises and corrects all human arts….The eye carries men to different parts of the world. It is the prince of mathematics….it has created architecture, and perspective, and divine paintings….it has discovered navigation». Leonardo da Vinci (1459-1519)

Optometry is a healthcare profession which is autonomous, educated and regulated (licensed/registered). Optometrists are the primary healthcare practitioners of the eye and visual system who provide comprehensive eye and vision care, which includes refraction and dispensing, detection and management of disease of the eye, and the rehabilitation of conditions of the visual system.

Soft Contact Lenses

We focus on the latest generation of materials and designs for monthly replacement and daily disposable contact lenses for a range of refractive error correction. We provide extensive guidance to new users and continuous monitoring and find best solution in presbyopia correction, having extensive experience in prescribing multifocal contact lenses, catered for each patient .

Keratoconus / special Contact Lenses

We have vast experience in customised contact lens fitting using RGP, semi-scleral and scleral lenses (RoseK series, Menicon Z) for the correction of demanding clinical cases and the complete restoration of vision in high ametropes, aphakes and patients with keratoconus, corneal transplants, PMD and other corneal abnormalities.

Myopia Control

With the use of special customised contact lenses  it is possible to control the development of myopia (Myopia Control) in children. This can be achieved using orthokeratology,  which implies the use of contact lenses with special materials that  allow high oxygen on the cornea, duding sleep. Also, daily disposable contact lenses of special optical design with CE and FDA approval.

Low Vision Aids

We offer a wide selection of the latest generation in optical and digital low vision aids and experienced Optometrists to help you choose the right product for patients with decreased visual acuity and performance, suffering from AMD and a number of genetic disorders that affect vision

Prismatic Correction

We have extensive experience in examining and treating binocular vision disorders (difficulties in convergence and accommodation) with the use of special eye tests and prisms. Performance is evaluated using a Virtual reality system

Corneal Topography

We have modern equipment (corneal topographer) for detailed monitoring of corneal anomalies and corneal disorders which lead to the best correction of vision in clinical cases of irregular astigmatism, keratoconus or transplantation using contact lenses.

Vision Training

Visual training of patients (applies both to children and adults) with amblyopia with a virtual reality (VR) device, through cortical exercise that offers significant benefits over conventional treatments due to the simultaneous function of both eyes. Improved eye / hand coordination, eye movement and eye fixation ability, and promotion of both stereoscopic and visual quality of the amblyopic eye.

Opticians are health professionals who are trained to supply, prepare, and dispense optical appliances through interpretation of written prescriptions. Opticians fit and finish eyeglass lenses and frames and also dispense low vision devices, contact lenses, and artificial eyes.

Optometrists are the major providers of primary vision care as independent, primary health care providers who examine, diagnose, treat, and manage refractive error and binocular vision anomalies and other disorders of the eye and the visual system. They prescribe ophthalmic lenses and contacts to achieve functional vision. Optometrists also do testing to determine the patient’s ability to focus and coordinate the eye, judge depth perception, and see colors accurately. The scope of optometry requires a knowledge of the therapeutic and rehabilitative methods used to care for the problems of vision from infancy through old age.

Sports vision In the last twenty years Sports Vision has been acknowledged through clinical practise and the scientific forum as a speciality of the Sports Medicine. Using the expertise from the Optometry and Ophthalmology sciences, it offers its services not only in the diagnosis and correction of the ocular refractive errors (eg myopia, hypermetropia, astigmatism) of the athletes but also for the prevention of eye injuries and ocular hazards using custom-made protective eyewear for sports.

Most important is that Sports Vision scientists can improve the eye-hand co-ordination skills as well as the eye tracking ability of the athlete/coach and the trainee by using specialised equipment. This will result in athletes gathering and processing useful information and respond quickly and efficiently in the context of a sport event. The speed with which this action is taken may distinguish winners from losers among athletes!

The scientific personnel of Optical House will be happy to inform you about the different topics of Sports Vision, for example the use of contact lenses depending on the needs of each sport or protecive eyewear that also protect from different hazards during the game!

Moreover, the eye-shaping contact lenses worn only at night (orthokeratology) offer a safe vision correction alternative for athletes, especially those engaged in rough sports.
